Intermodal Europe 2025: An Inspiring Day on Security, Technology and Sustainability

On October 21st, 2025Spanish Shippers’ Council (SSC) – Transprime took part in Intermodal Europe 2025, held in Barcelona — one of Europe’s most important conferences for the logistics and intermodal transport industry.

Our Secretary General, Jordi Espín Vallbona, participated in the panel “Cargo and Container Security: Harnessing Technology for Enhanced Protection and Operational Transparency for All Supply Chain Stakeholders”, alongside distinguished international speakers and moderators.

The session addressed the main challenges and opportunities facing global supply chains in terms of security, digitalization and operational transparency, emphasizing how technology can strengthen traceability, anticipate risks, and foster trust among all actors in the logistics ecosystem.

These topics, closely aligned with the values of the Certificate of Responsible Shipper (CCR), highlight the need to move toward a more ethical, responsible and sustainable logistics model.

The day also brought a particularly special moment: a meeting with John Manners-Bell, renowned logistics analyst and author of “The Good Logistics”. During their exchange, Jordi Espín and Manners-Bell discussed the importance of promoting a more human, purpose-driven logistics approach that prioritizes people and social well-being.

As a meaningful gesture, John Manners-Bell presented our Secretary General with a signed copy of his book, a symbol of shared values and mutual commitment to advancing a responsible logistics culture.

At Spanish Shippers’ Council (SSC), we remain dedicated to fostering collaboration, innovation, and ethical logistics, contributing to a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable logistics sector.
